Stefanie Mendez, MS, RD,
is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist.

Background: Stefanie is a Registered Dietitian who earned her Undergraduate Degree at New York University in Nutrition and Food Science. After graduating, she lived in Puebla, Mexico where she interned and volunteered in a variety of health clinics and hospitals to better understand the food, culture and nutritional needs of the Hispanic population. She then returned to New York City, where she completed her Dietetic Internship at New York University and Montefiore Medical Center. Since then, she has earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Nutrition from NYU and actively works as a Clinical Dietitian at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s hospital in NYC. In her clinical practice, Stefanie works closely with patients to provide evidenced-based nutrition therapy for a number of nutrition disorders, helping patients on their road to recovery.

Specialties: Stefanie provides nutrition counseling for a variety of conditions including gastrointestinal disorders, cardiovascular disease, immunological disorders and adult weight loss/management.  

Affiliations: She is an active member of the Greater New York Dietetic Association, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, as well as, Nutrition Entrepreneurs Dietetic Practice Group member
Personal Interests: Nutrition and cooking have always been a part of Stefanie’s life. She spends her weekends reading and trying new recipes, as well as exploring different cuisines. She has a passion for Mexican culture and cuisine, which she tries to recreate in New York for her Mexican-born husband. Stefanie is also passionate about writing and is an avid health & wellness blogger with the Mount Sinai St Luke’s site, HealthBytesNYC. In addition, Stefanie is an active cyclist and believes that mental and physical wellness are key to living a healthy life. She enjoys helping others to achieve this balance in life.
