Holiday Survival Tips

Well, it is that time of year again. Time to get together with your closest family and loved ones to share stories, laughs and of course, LOTS AND LOTS OF GOOD FOOD! So much food that surveys show that the average adult can gain up to 7 pounds of body fat from Thanksgiving to New Years. But with all the hard work you do throughout the year exercising and eating well, who wants to blow it all in just a few weeks?

This year, while everyone else is putting off their diet until New Year’s resolution, get a head-start!  Follow my top 6 foolproof health tips to avoid winter weight gain and survive this holiday season guilt-free!

1.       KEEP FOOD RECORDS
Writing down what you eat every day, especially during the holidays, will keep you accountable and aware: the 2 most important things to prevent over-eating.  Have a close friend, family member or a dietitian review them regularly to keep you on track.

2.       AVOID LIQUID CALORIES
Cold weather and holidays makes drinks such as hot chocolate, eggnog and alcohol much more appealing. But these beverages can be loaded with sugar and calories: one of the major sources of superfluous calories. Liquid calories are not very filling and can cause sudden energy crashes later in the day which can make you even hungrier. Hydrate yourself with zero-calorie drinks such as water or club soda and warm up with calorie-free tea.

3.       DON’T SKIP MEALS
Between work schedules and holiday shopping, there is little time to think about eating, but skipping meals will only back fire on you. This often leads to over-eating and eventually weight gain. Focus on eating regularly or every 3-5 hours and you will have better energy levels and appetite control.

4.       PLAN AHEAD
If you know it is going to be a busy day, keep a healthy snack in your bag or at your desk such as fresh fruit or raw nuts. Don't go hungry to a holiday party or If you’re going to a restaurant, look up the menu ahead of time so you know what you’re going to order.

5.       MAKE TIME TO EXERCISE
Exercise is important for a healthy body and mind. Keep in touch with your trainer to schedule regular sessions and if you don’t have a trainer, make an appointment with yourself! Bring gym clothes to work so you don’t find excuses or go to the stores to buy holiday gifts instead of online shopping. It might not save time but it will certainly burn more calories.

6.       GET YOUR Zzzz’s
Lack of sleep not only leads to decreased productivity and increased stress but it is strongly linked to weight gain. WIthout adequate rest, hunger and cravings spike.  Make sleep a priority and try to get in at least 7 hours each night.

I am very much overwhelmed by your thoughts for this particular story. A more deeper and staged knowledge would be good for me. I am searching for good concepts on recession and I think this is the best blog for me to expand.

A person's "fate" in the end how much? How much worth to treasure? How many worthwhile for us to give up? We say "a little place, missed the opposite did not know," thousands and thousands of pedestrians world, which you rub shoulders with the opposite sex will become that person in your life?
